As a child I would sit for hours drawing or editing images on the family Tiny PC in Microsoft Paint, sometimes obsessively creating gradients pixel by pixel. So it’s no surprise that I studied art and design, film photography and graphic design at The College of West Anglia Kings Lynn. I'm not necessarily materialistic about the superficial aesthetics of things, I just enjoy the process of having something in my mind and then creating it, or having a loose plan and letting the piece subconsciously develop, then nurturing it to the objectives of the project.

After college I worked as a freelance graphic designer, designing artwork for musicians and businesses, websites and social media. I also suppled my digital art work to a stock image website (a company now owned by Getty Images), which within three years achieved hundreds of thousands of downloads from scratch with no previous experience in stock imagery or marketing, and before the days of social media 'influencer' marketing era took off. Making artwork for fun and the fact other people benefited from using them, was a bonus, plus getting instant feedback and stats on what type of art people liked and were looking for.

It wasn’t until several years later that I bought my first DSLR camera, and with already having experience in using software to edit images and an intuitive eye for design and detail, my photography hit the ground running... or maybe hit the ground walking, lets not get too bigheaded, I'm always learning and eager to advance my skills.

I also have more than five years combined experience working in designer fashion retail, specialised outdoor leisure products, visual merchandising, sales and quality auditing in manufacturing, which gives me an eagle eyed perspective in understanding what an image needs to portray.
